Adelaide Mayli Foster was born on Mother's Day (05/11/08) and she is perfect - a sweet little blessing from God. She was born 7lbs 3oz and 20 inches long. Her weight dropped to 6lbs 13oz (which is normal) and now she is at 7lbs 6oz, which is REALLY great. Typically babies don't pass their birth weight until around 2 weeks. I think she likes to eat A LOT just like her Mommy and Daddy. She is a bit jaundiced (yellow) so we are getting her into the indirect sunlight as much as possible. It is over 100 degrees here, so this is a bit of a challenge. We put her up in the kitchen pop-out window for a bit today. She was a little sunbather.
Melissa was incredible during the birth. I was and am SO PROUD OF HER. She is feeling really good all things considered. She is walking around and looking GREAT. You can't even tell she had a baby, and it has only been 4 days.
Thanks so much for all of your prayers and thoughts and help and advice. It is really a blessing to know that we are not doing this alone. Many of you have offered to bring a meal by our house. We might take you up on that in a couple of weeks after our out-of-town guests have left.
We love our little girl. Can't wait for all of you to meet her!
